Purpose:
The Technical Services Assistant is responsible for providing support to the technical activities of AMPD Performance Facilities and/or associated clients.

Education:
Minimum education high school diploma with 1 year college certificate in theatre production or related field OR equivalent experience of 1 year in an administrative and technical support role for a professional performance venue.

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years experience in an administrative and technical support role for a professional performance venue.

Committed to providing superior service to customers. respond effectively to customer concerns and service issues as they arise. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. able to communicate clearly and concisely, work independently and as a part of a team. Demonstrate good judgment and willingness to take initiative. sensitive to student needs and interests. Attention todetail and ability to maintain strict confidentiality is essential. Knowledge and proficiency with MS Office and similar computer software, good keyboarding/data entry skills. Must possess technical skills in theatrical audio including audio patching, microphone technique, mixing console operation and recording. or theatrical lighting including hanging and focusing lighting instruments and programming/operating lighting consoles. or theatrical audio-visual including patching cameras, monitors, PC and/or Mac computers and control devices/programs,loading graphics files, operating AV switcher and configuring projectors. Knowledge of Vectorworks software is an asset.

Additional Notes:
CSA approved safety footwear must be worn.
